Buy Laminate Floors That Last

Laminate floors are one of the most popular flooring choices as they can replicate types of wood that would normally be too fragile and expensive for everyday use.

These floors normally have a wood-grain appearance and planks that are the same size and shape as wood floor planks, so they're a convincing substitute for hardwood. On top of that, they can last much longer than even sturdier woods can with minimal maintenance.

Why Laminated Wooden Flooring?

This wood flooring alternative is made with a compressed base and has a decorative laminated layer on top. It offers the following benefits:

  • Realistic wood look

  • Wide range of colours

  • Fade scratch and impact resistant

  • Affordability

  • Durability

  • Comfort underfoot

  • Good insulator for warmth

  • Design flexibility

  • Quick installation

  • Minimal maintenance

Snowy Snyman

“Pascal and his team replaced flood damaged Laminated flooring and carpets for me. Their attention to detail, and quality of workmanship was exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending Resilient flooring as a company you can trust for good service and reasonable pricing.”

Laminate Flooring Care

Once you’ve installed wooden laminated flooring, looking after it is simple.

  • Use a broom rather than any abrasive brushes.

  • Clean up food and spills immediately.

  • Use soft & slightly damp mops (such as microfibre mops).

  • Avoid mopping with buckets of water (pools of water can damage your laminate).

  • There’s no need to wax or polish laminate floors.

Laminate Flooring FAQs

  • While there are a select few that have recently entered the market which claim to be waterproof the standard answer to this is no. Laminates have come a long way from their predecessors in that they are a lot more ‘water-resistant’ than previous version but water still remains their main arch-nemesis and should be kept clear of laminate flooring to ensure longevity.

  • No, almost all laminates have a coating which protects the decorative layer underneath and this does not allow the adherence of paint to the surface. Also painting would require regular maintenance which laminates alleviates the need for.

  • No, this would allow too much movement underneath the laminate which would put stress on the joins and ultimately damage your laminate flooring. The carpets should be removed and preferably a rubber underlay utilized underneath.

  • Laminate has a compressed wood core with a laminate layer on top, whereas vinyl is typically made from a variety of PVC composites. The main difference to the end user is the fact that vinyls are 100% waterproof while laminates fall into the ‘water-resistant’ category.
